Q. Can I be seen for an acute illness at the Health Department?
A. No, Health Department clinics provide preventive care such as immunizations, family planning, etc. The Health Department will provide you with a list of local clinics that provide services on a sliding fee schedule based on income. Call (615) 340-5655 or Click Here to view online.

Q. Can I be seen for a STD (Sexually Transmitted Disease)?
A. Yes. The Health Department has a clinic that specializes in the prevention and treatment of Sexually Transmitted Diseases. Call 340-5657 or walk in to the Lentz STD Clinic at 311 23rd Avenue North.

Q. Can I or my child come to the Health Department for a Physical Exam?

Q. Can I come to the Health Department for baby shots and other childhood immunizations?
A. Yes. We give all childhood immunizations for children 18 years and younger free to Davidson County residents. No appointment is needed. Come to any of our three Preventive Health Centers. Lentz, 311 23rd Avenue North; East, 1015 East Trinity Lane; Woodbine, 224 Oriel Street.

Q. Can I get adult immunizations at the Health Department?
A. We give Td (free), Tdap (free), MMR ($50.00), and Hepatitis B ($35.00). No appointment is needed. Come to any of our three Preventive Health Centers.

Q. Can I get birth control at the Health Department?
A. Yes. We have a Family Planning program that provides birth control methods and women’s health exams. Call for an appointment: Lentz – (615) 340-5607; East – (615) 862-7916; Woodbine – (615) 862-7940.

Q. Can I get a pregnancy test at the Health Department?
A. Yes. We offer a urine pregnancy test. No appointment is needed. Come to any of our three Preventive Health Centers.
