Ryan White Program
Q. What is the Ryan White Part A program?
A. A program funded by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA-HIV/AIDS Bureau) that provides grants to local governments in communities where people are disproportionately affected by HIV/AIDS. HRSA awarded Metropolitan Government of Nashville the Part A grant and it is administered by Metro Public Health Department. The program funds a variety of medical and support services in Davidson and twelve other surrounding counties.

Q. What is the Nashville Transition Grant Area (NTGA) Ryan White Planning Council?
A. The Nashville Transitional Grant Area Planning Council is a community planning group that oversees the prioritization and allocation of Ryan White Part A funds. The Council has several major duties, including:
- Determining the needs of people living with HIV/AIDS, especially those not in care;
- Setting priorities for the allocation of funds; and
- Developing a comprehensive plan for the organization and delivery of health services.
Q. When and where does the Planning Council meet?
A. The full Council meets on the third Tuesday of every month at the Lentz Public Health Center, 311 23rd Avenue North, Nashville; from 4:00 to 6:00 pm. Committees usually meet once a month. Meeting dates and times are subject to change.
